I will not leave you orphans —
I will come to you. * He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.

EASTERN EPARCHY

To the Reverend Clergy, Parish Council Presidents and Members, Community and Church Organizations, and all Pious Christians in Canada,
Glory to Jesus Christ!
Beloved in Christ,
As you are aware, our Eastern Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada has initiated a Christian / Humanitarian project whose goal it is to help the most needy and helpless—the orphans of Ukraine. We have identified an orphanage in Volhynia, which I visited personally in December of 2011, to which we will direct our aid, and to which we will organize a mission trip for the youth (aged 18-26) of our Church in order to help the orphans with material aid as well as through personal service.
In the past, the faithful of our Eparchy have generously engaged in such service by offering their humanitarian aid through various community organizations. Now we have the opportunity to offer our aid directly through this noble initiative of our Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada.
In order to carry through this initiative on behalf of the orphans and physically challenged children in Ukraine successfully we need your help and support.
How can you help? In the following ways:
- You can support this project with financial contributions from your par
ish or parish district. Financial donations, for which you will receive a tax re
ceipt, can be sent to the following address:
UOCC Eastern Eparchy – Orphanage Fund
3281 Cindy Cres.
Mississauga, ON L4Y 3J7 - You can encourage the younger members of your family, parish, or organization to take part in a mission trip to Ukraine.
- You can sponsor mission trip participants financially. We plan to have our first trip this year. Your support will help them, and bring great assistance to the needy children on behalf of our Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada.
We ask your prayers for the success of this noble endeavour, that the Lord God would bless this good deed of our Church, as well as all benefactors and supporters, and especially our youth in their service to the needy children and orphans in Ukraine. Without God’s help nothing is possible.
We thank all of you in advance for your understanding and support. Christ the Saviour said: “All that you do for this, the least of my brethren, you have done for me.”
With Archpastoral Blessings,
† ANDRIY, Bishop
Chair of the Ukraine Orphanage Assistance Committee
