It is with a profound sense of our own loss — yet in the inextinguishable light of peace and mercy that is the Resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ — that we inform the faithful of our Eparchy of the sudden and unexpected passing from this life of the servant of God, Stephania Daria Spytkowsky.

Beloved wife of Michael for 60 years. Devoted mother of Alexander, Marijka, Nancy and Michael Jr. Cherished grandmother of Markian and Kristia. Dear sister of Ben Michaluk (Anita) and sister-in-law of Carl Spytkowsky (Anne).

With the Blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan YURIJ and His Grace, Bishop ANDRIY,this year’s Eastern Eparchy Assembly will take place on Thursday, November 12th (Clergy Conference) and Friday, November 13 (Full Assembly), 2015 at St. Demetrius’ Sobor — 3338 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Etobicoke.

Registration for lay delegates is $50; $100 for clergy delegates, with all meals included. Parishes must cover travel and registration expenses for their respective delegates and clergy.

All parishes are asked to ensure that their 2014/2015 Eparchy dues have been paid prior to the Assembly; and are asked to pay their dues for the 2015/2016 year either in full, or by post-dated cheque at the Assembly. Please be aware that, in accordance with rules governing Assemblies, parishes who have not paid their dues for previous years do not have the right to speak or vote at the Assembly. Cheques for past dues; dues for the 2015/16 year; registration fees and donations to the Eparchy can be delivered to the Eparchy Council’s Financial Secretary either at registration or together with the Parish Questionnaire prior to the Assembly.

75 Years 1940-2015 – Come Celebrate With Us!

The next 12 months the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of St. Demetrius is celebrating its 75th Anniversary!

We welcome all our members and adherents with this milestone, and would like to encourage everyone to participate, through regular attendance at the Divine Liturgy on Sundays, as well as all the other special services throughout the year. We are planning our annual St. Demetrius Feast Day dinner on Sunday November 8, 2015, as well as a subsequent gala banquet (details to follow).

Сurrently we are raising funds for the many projects planned to renew and refresh our parish, and we hope that everyone will donate generously to our 75th Anniversary fund!
